Aviation Training & Services

As an illustration of the wide scope of our services, we can assist in the following areas:

  • MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS: the development and implementation of computer systems for Flight Operations, Maintenance, training, cargo management, control of records and documents, and any other operational software requirements;

  • ORGANIZATION UPGRADE: The EU has passed regulations governing Flight Operations and Maintenance through EASA requirements. These regulations are likely to have a dramatic impact on European Flight Operations, as they apply directly to the EU member States and indirectly to prospective or non-members. Many other States are likely to follow the lead of the EU - as ICAO encourages the safety and performance of Flight Operations to be subject to independent scrutiny and safety assessment. Our extensive experience on these matters can help your organizations approval according to these standards. Additionally we can prepare your organization to meet IATA's Operational Standards (IOSA) for competence in the aviation market and possible participation in airline alliances.

  • SAFETY & SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: The need for Safety Management is a legal requirement for Air Operators, but it is also a business necessity. Recent EU legislation requires Air Operators to have an effective Safety Management System (SMS) (which must be subjected to regular independent audits). Minimizing exposure to risk and risk reduction is an essential objective in any enterprise. When safety problems do occur, the proper implementation of an effective SMS will ensure that risk bearing events are fully mitigated (to both contain and reduce damage) and that steps are taken to pro-actively eliminate any future occurrences. Indeed, by carrying out a formal risk & hazard analysis and safety assessment, steps can be taken to significantly reduce both the probability of incidents or accidents occurring in the first instance and to significantly contain their severity. This is not "rocket science", merely the application of a systematic process of analysis.

  • MAINTENANCE COST/BENEFIT STUDIES: Selection and evaluation of the appropriate and cost effective Maintenance & Repair Organizations (MRO), and establishing procedures to minimize maintenance downtime, AOG response times, and operating costs. We can suggest approved MRO for your airframe, engines and components, using criteria focusing on safety, turnaround time and cost efficiency, satisfying your needs and reducing your maintenance cost. Our long term co-operation of the selected MRO’s is not only based on the above criteria, but auditing the selected organizations by our own auditors, in order to ensure that the organization we are going to propose will fulfil the needs and satisfy the expectations of our customers, by realizing proven conformance and commitment to quality and safety. We inspect the quality of their workmanship and reputation before the customer ever decides sending work there. Also, airlines should know the cost of doing business, down to the smallest job, and whether the MRO has any Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) on staff or is comfortable using Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) parts. The potential cost savings are too attractive to ignore. Outsourcing, or contract maintenance, has become an integral and growing part of today's cost-conscious airline industry.

  • CONTRACTS REVIEW AND FOLLOW-UP: Our specialized team of contracts evaluation, creates valuable conditions that will benefit your organization. First, outsourcing contracts must clearly designate the responsibilities of the airline and the contracted party. Secondly, the contract must specify that the contracted work takes place within the prescribed time-frame and that airline personnel on site maintain a tight control of the process. The third point is the invoice analysis, require in-depth review by personnel trained and experienced on such control.

  • CERTIFICATION APPROVAL ASSISTANCE: AST is capable of providing consultation in preparing organizations to obtain their approval in maintenance (AMO), in Flight Operations (AOC) or in training (AMTO - AMO).

  • FINANCING OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS: Our highly experienced financing consultants can provide our customers with financing solutions for projects development. Their extensive experience has given them the ability to apply and succeed financing from certain EU programs concerning any field of application. Their concrete knowledge on how to evaluate a customer’s project proposal, and the professional way of approaching the proper EU program guarantees the success of the result.

  • FUEL HEDGING: The practice, often employed by airline companies, of making advance purchases of fuel at a fixed price for future delivery to protect against the shock of anticipated rises in price, is successfully proposed and implemented by our specialists, saving thus millions of dollars safeguarding airline operating costs and boosting profits. The risk management function is expected to help in reducing the volatility in cash flows, protecting profit margins and resulting in better cash management. It is also expected to help in enhancing airline's competitiveness in international markets.
